There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around.
Sparking curiosity is more important than anything.

In this upcoming 5 session beginner course, you'll learn the basics of how to keep honey bees. You'll learn how to install a new colony, maintain them through the season, do IPM and checks, pull honey and winterize. At the end of this series you'll be ready for your own colonies! Please send me a message if you've got any questions. This course will include BC ministry and Canadian approved literature on pests and IPM. Five sessions over 5 months starting March 30th, with options to work with me more often through the season. $295 inclusive.

During the spring, summer and autumn, I am often in the colonies and do "live in the hives" online on our Facebook Page. Find us below on FB at Nectar News and join us for these sessions. I'll also be chatting weekly about other pollinators and threats to those beings. If you have questions, please ask. Together, we can make a difference!

What has sparked your curiosity in wanting to become a beekeeper? Let me help you dive into the hives and learn so much about becoming a prolific beekeeper and not just a bee haver (someone who just has bees!).
Available via text, zoom and often in person, this is a monthly membership option for ongoing learning and mentorship.
Send me an email if you are looking for a mentor or have questions about getting into being a beekeeper!

As we enter the dark part of the year, the season where sunlight is at a premium, join me as I use the sounds of bees to teach you about mindfullness and movement. Active and calm meditation is amazing for mindfullness at any age and in Gathering Groups we will explore the use of the buzz of the bees to show how their perfect tone can help. Studies have shown how their perfect pitch is calming and has a added benefit for anxiety and depression (when included in a regime). Does this interested you? Gathering Groups happening soon in a spot near you!
How would you feel about a beekeeper visit in your classroom or at your event? Taste some honey straight from the honey frame. Learn what it takes for each worker bee to make 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime. How far they must travel for the sweet golden nectar.

Nearly 80% of flowering plants are pollinated by honeybees and without our friendly honey makers, what would we do? Make an impact by providing your yard and your neighbours yard with extra pollinators! Contact me below for more information about creating a space where pollinators will WANT to come and be in your garden both to pollinate your vegetables and collect nectar and pollen from your flowers. A symbiotic relationship is paramount for a healthy garden!
I'm here to help however I can! Whether you are local or far away, drop me a line and we can chat about all things bees.
